Rapallo is situated in the most interior part of the Tigullio Gulf and counts about 35.000 inhabitants. It is a beautiful city that faces the sea and enjoys, thanks to this position, a mild and temperate climate, just like many other places in Liguria, even during wintertime. Rapallo can boast a well consolidate tourist tradition. It was in fact an affirmed vacation place in the second half of the ''800 already, thanks to the elite tourism coming from a big part of England. The city has a particular calling for welcoming people that allows it to offer unforgettable vacations. Well-organised and clean beaches preserve particular corners of unthinking beauty. Among the monuments that one can't miss here is a list of the most important: Il Castello, that is basically built on the sea, it was built in 1550 and it is the evidence of how the towns along the Riviera had to daily defend themselves from pirates attack. Today, it is the residence of many different expositions. Montallegro's Sanctuary, overlooks Rapallo from up high and it is possible to reach it by cableway. It is possible to admire a wonderful view from the large square in front of the church. Another very important monument is the Teatro Delle Clarisse, obtained by the homonymous convent, next to that is possible to visit the Museo D'Arte Gaffoglio.
